Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun

nowI am seeing questions on Facebook & travel blogs/sites about Now Resorts & Spas in Riviera Maya. People want to know what is Now? For those of you familiar with the Riviera Maya corridor – Now Jade Riviera Cancun is the former NH Resort. Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun is the former Paradisus. This blog today will focus on Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun. Here are some key reasons why you will want to stay there!

Now Sapphire is an All Suite, Unlimited-Luxury Resort very close to the airport and also only 15 minutes to Puerto Morelos. The close proximity to the airport is convenient for vacationers who only have time for a short stay. The suites are especially great for families, as they provide the needed extra space. Also for families, they have an Explorer’s Club which accepts children starting at age 3. If you have read my blogs before, you know I am a huge fan of The Explorer’s Club (which can also be found at Dreams Resorts & Spas).

The hotel is a haven for golfers, as it offers complimentary Golf (once per person, per day) at Playa Paraiso which is a P.B. Dye Championship design.

Now Sapphire offers many options for cocktails and dining including 7 Bars and 6 a la carte restaurants. The best part is that there are NO Reservations required, no restrictions. I love this because I do not want to be on anyone else’s schedule when I am on MY vacation. The hotel also does not make you wear wristbands, like some other resorts do.

What else do they have? Oceanfront Palapas, 3 Oceanfront pools with Bali Beds, Beautiful Spa and Spa Garden, Fitness Center, Two Lit Tennis Courts, Sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and wine tastings.

  2. I have a question, I will be going to this resort in July and on all the weather reports the picture is a rain/thunderstorm picture…is it really going to be raining out whole trip?

  3. I hope not for your sake! Typically in the “tropics” it rains for a small time each day. Last time I went to Dreams Cancun it predicted rain everyday and it only rained once. Good luck, hope you get great weather.

  4. A group of us are trying to decide where to go next May. My husband & I have stayed at the Iberostar Tucan several times & really want to try something different. But we are hesitant because ~ why mess with a good thing? We are seriously considering the Now Sapphire. Any advice / comments would be appreciated!
    Thx in advance!

  5. Hi Pammy. Sapphire is very similar to the Iberostars as far as design. I was told they had the same original architect. Long hallways, bridges and a HUGE pool. Beautiful. The difference between the two is no towels cards, no dining reservations and no wristbands at Sapphire. I love Iberostar as well. Tough call. I don’t think you can go wrong with either hotel. Check out Apple Vacations Facebook page I posted an album from Sapphire I took 2 weeks ago.

  6. Thanks Eileen. Appreciate the info. We just booked the Sapphire less than 2 hours ago! So if I would have logged on here and read something different I would have freaked!!! We are so psyched!
    Thanks again!
    Pammy

  7. Any advice on transportation from the airport to the resort? I have heard Grayline is good?

  8. What is the dress code for the resturants at Sapphife? I am not sure what Casual elegance means!

  9. My GF and I are looking for a good deal on a vacation to the Mexican Riviera. We came across the NOW resorts, and loved the recent rennovations they’ve made. The place looks beautiful, but we are looking to do a 7 day trip.

I wondered about nightlife and entertainment? It seems like the Now Sapphire has a disco club, but Jade does not. Are the two resorts affiliated with one another, and are they walking distance? If I stay at the Jade and stroll over to Sapphire, will I be asked to pay or leave?

Additionally, what kind of excursions are there available? We would like to do some scuba diving and Nature walks if possible.

I appreciate any advice you can give, we’re hoping to go this April!

  10. Hey Tom & anyone looking on being down @ the Now Sapphire April 20th – 27th, I’m freakin excited about this trip. It’s in an awesome are, free round of golf per day, snorkling with a natural reef as close as you can get for free, 6 a la carte (awesome), I can’t say I’ve been but you can’t loose with this place.

See ya down there, I’ll be the guy in their sports bar wearing a Canuck Jersey 🙂

    Mike. – Happy travels –

  11. Is there any nightlife within a few miles of Now Sapphire Hotel? I saw info on Playa Del Carmen but that is about a 35 minute ride.
