I’d like to point out that most hotels have many different room categories. So you are not disappointed upon you arrival in resort, make sure you book the room category you want, and understand what it really means. If you are not sure ask your travel agent or go on the hotel’s website.
Here are some of the standard terminologies used for rooms:
STD or ROH mean Standard or Run of the House. They are usually the best “available” rooms at time of check-in, with no specific view guaranteed.
Ocean-View means you will have just that — a view of the ocean from your window or balcony. Your room however may not directly face the ocean. You may have to look to the left or right but from your room the ocean is visible. Ocean-Front is a room that faces the ocean and is truly that Ocean-Front.
Make sure you understand what room category you are booked in prior to departure, it may make for a much more enjoyable vacation upon arrival.
