Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun and Now Jade Riviera Cancun are truly “gems” in Riviera Maya.
Aside from their reputation of being family-friendly, fun and boasting luxurious accommodations, what makes these two resorts so special is that they are consistently included in great all-inclusive package deals!
They are both very unique and yet both provide wonderful vacation spots for the whole family. Here are my favorite things about each resort.
Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun has a more “tropical” and “resort” feel. From the moment you check-in and enter the open-air lobby you know you are on vacation!
The large lobby is the center and hub of the resort. You can find people at all hours of the day and night in this lobby either sitting with a cup of coffee from the Coco Café, reading a book, playing a game to get out of the sun or enjoying an evening cocktail. It is a great place to meet up with your friends or make new ones. I enjoy the atmosphere the lobby creates; it makes the resort very social.
But while the lobby is the social hub, the pool is the centerpiece of Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun. It’s large – huge – and picturesque with built in sunbeds. They have a fun swim – up bar and in the late afternoon, it can get a little bit lively. But there is plenty of space to catch a quite spot in the pool as well. I LOVE this pool. The rooms are all deluxe and they are larger than a “normal” hotel room size. That’s a great feature of this resort.
The theater is off of the lobby near the pool and because it has glass walls, which gives the open-air feel. The Entertainment Team puts on some excellent and energetic shows.
The Preferred Club amenities are similar. The Preferred Club pool at Now Sapphire is built right into the foliage. Although it has no swim up bar, it’s very, very quiet and very relaxing, if that’s what you are looking for. The beach at Now Sapphire feels both longer and wider and is ample for day and night activities. I really like the beach especially the southern-most part. It’s quite and relaxing and one of my favorite spots in the entire resort.
The moment you pull up to Now Jade, you know you are in for a sleek and modern stay. The lobby has a very modern feel from the common areas to the rooms. Everything feels new and updated.
The resort is almost shaped like an “E”. Looking from the lobby to the ocean – the Preferred Club is to the left, the restaurants run down the middle, and the hotel rooms/main pool are to the right. The restaurants are all very centrally located down the middle of the resort. I love the Carnival Buffet.
Many resorts tuck the buffet restaurant inside or in a corner, not at Now Jade — the entire restaurant is ocean view – nice! They have an indoor and outdoor dining option and the entire restaurant (indoors) is air conditioned.
Now Jade has “The Explorers Club,” my son’s favorite kids club – ever – of any resort we have been to. I like it because it is centrally located, and we can get there easily from any part of the resort. He loves it! He’s had some of his best times in resort at this kids club from face painting to arts & crafts, piñata fun, pillow fight parties and Fiestas.
The rooms have a modern feel and bright colors. A minimum room is a junior suite at Now Jade so they have a seating area and a bed area, which is nice. And the bathrooms are HUGE. I have stayed in several different room categories and LOVE the rooms at this
The pool is large and modern and both the Preferred Club Pool and the main pool are infinity pools. It is so relaxing having a coveted spot at the end of the pool (in the pool), gazing at the blue turquoise waters and listening to the ocean. This spot is not only one of my favorite places in resort, but in the world.
I always recommend upgrading to the Preferred Club at either resort, the extra amenities, access to the Preferred Club lounge and the extra restaurant are all nice features. It’s a must at Now Jade because the Preferred Club pool is amazing. There are hammocks right over the pool! And they have a swim up bar. The Bali beds at the Preferred Club are plenty and are a little slice of heaven.
In the End
First of all, let me say both resorts have spectacular staff, amazing service and fabulous cuisine — and they do not require towel cards, wristbands or dining reservations at either resort. That’s a plus at both resorts!
OK, I convinced myself I am ready to head back! These are my own opinions from my stays. I hope it helps you to decide which one of The Now Resorts & Spas is right for you.
