Simply the best… “cool” pool!

As family vacation season is upon us, if you want to ensure that you are in a resort that has a pool that keeps the kids (and kids at heart) happy, then read on.

When asking fellow employees what resort have you stayed at that has a “cool” pool the same two names consistently came up. Again, Iberostar Paraiso Lindo and Maya is a top choice!  In addition to the amazing main pool network there is both Mayan themed wave pool and a fun lazy river.  Between, the main pool, wave pool and lazy river you will need to remind yourself there is a beach.

Another top choice for “cool pool” is the pool at Grand Sirenis in Riviera Maya. Grand Sirenis main pool has been described as very peaceful and beautiful, and they also have a lazy river pool for some relaxation.  It has a slow current and snakes thru the entire property. You could hop on an inner tube with margarita in hand and drift all day!

Tell us, what Apple Vacation have you been on that had your most favorite pool?

Final Riviera Maya Hotel Reviews

iberoFinal hotel reviews from our Florida sales rep, Everton, from his recent trip to Riviera Maya.

Iberostar Paraiso del Mar – This is the entry-level property of the Iberostar complex.  They are standard rooms, which are colorful and well maintained.  The grounds are beautiful. Room service is offered from 11am – 11pm.  King-bed rooms offer a shower only while double-bed rooms offer a tub with shower.  A-la- carte dining does have restrictions at this resort and reservations are required.

Iberostar Paraiso Maya – This resort features all junior suites and it is located in the center of the Iberostar complex.  The resort offers 24-hour room service with no restrictions on a-la-carte dining.  This resort also features a Lazy River and wave pool! The hotel is perfect for families.

Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso – This is an adults-only LUXURY Resort!  310 junior suites with butler service! 4 Specialty Restaurants and 24-hour room service! The resort exudes a feeling of luxury and opulence!  * Note  – There is a huge shopping area on site at the entire Iberostar complex for all resorts. The complex even offers a Catholic Church.

Riu Playacar – The hotel offers 386 standard rooms and 2 Restaurants. It does have sharing privileges with the Riu Yucatan and the Riu Tequila.  Perfect for someone looking for a “smaller” resort.

Riu Palace Mexico – This resort hosted us and we received great service and amazing food.  The hotel has 434 junior suites, 6 restaurants, 2 pools, a swim-up bar and golf nearby.  I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service!  Beautiful beach and it is close to Playa del Carmen!

pic11Who says Empty Nesters can’t have fun? No more kids – it’s just the two of us now. I decided it’s time to go on vacation with my hubby to Cancun/Riviera Maya. Don’t get me wrong, we love our daughter and had many wonderful family vacations along with friends to Cancun and Punta Cana, but it was time for just the two of us to do whatever we pleased. And we did!  From the USA3000 flight to our transfer to the hotel, everything went smoothly. We stayed at the all-inclusive Iberostar Paraiso Maya. The hotel was just beautiful with its warm colors and Mayan architecture – so picturesque. The staff were so friendly they couldn’t do enough for you. We thought we were on our honeymoon again with concierge service, a Jacuzzi in the room, full mini-bar stocked daily, 24 hour room service, flower petals on our bed and flowers in the Jacuzzi (along with bubble bath) we definitely were getting spoiled. We also had a private pool in our building. The gourmet restaurants were superb from the food and service to the presentation; we looked forward to dining every day.  We were trying to fit it all in, a little time at the hotel’s lazy river pool, a little time at their spectacular beach, a visit to their disco, some snorkeling and a trip to the quaint and vibrant town of Playa del Carmen, with its own ambiance of culture was fascinating. A little tequila, a little Mohito’s, a little dancing – we were having a blast.  A great, much needed, mid-winter break.  The only regret – 4 nights is not enough, so much to see and do, next time definitely 7 nights. So to all you empty nesters, revive yourselves, take the blues away – take a vacation! What are you waiting for – it’s your time.

Our First Family Vacation

090708_familyvacaOur first vacation as a family was to Iberostar Hotels & Resorts in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

I traveled with my husband and then three-year-old son to Iberostar Paraiso Maya in Riviera Maya. My husband and I had been many times, but this was our first Mexican adventure as a family. I did all the mom worrying ahead of time…what will he eat, what will he drink, will he sleep, can he take the sun, will he be bored with 5 days in an all – inclusive? All the worries were alleviated within minutes of arriving.

First let me say, if you are looking for a complete “togetherness” family vacation, this is the spot! We were able to do everything together all week and not only managed to survive but had a fabulous time.  Continue reading
