Review from Danny Bonaduce

picApple Vacations is always happy to host our radio station friends on great Apple Vacations. Danny Bonaduce from CBS Radio just got back from Dreams Tulum and here are some of his vacation photos & what he had to say:

In the last year, I have been fortunate enough to travel to Punta Cana in The Dominican Republic, Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Tulum, Mexico through Apple Vacations. Everything was perfect. I would never travel through anyone else.

When you get off a plane in a foreign country, things can get a little confusing. But, the second you see the flowered shirts from Apple Vacations, you know you’re in good hands. I have been on more than a dozen Apple Vacations. Everything has worked out so well that I actually let Apple pick my last three destinations. They were right every time!

Why Apple Vacations?

OK, so I wrote a blog a few weeks ago about why Travel Agents & Apple Vacations and not On-Line Booking Sites. It reminded me of an e-mail I got a few years ago from a media executive that I had in resort at the time a hurricane hit. I edited it, but after you read it I think you’ll know why… there is nothing better than Apple Vacations! The e-mail speaks for itself.

Man when you guys set up a vacation, you think of everything. I cannot tell you how much Susan, you and Apple Vacations meant to me and my wife especially because of adventure we wound up in. The clout Apple has is unbelievable.  Everyone, and I do mean everyone, was turned away at the airport road unless they were with Apple Vacations.  Thousands of people. The (Mexican) Army was turning away buses, taxis and people on foot. It looked like something out of a movie.  We got waved thru like we were rock stars.

Let me tell you about your guy at Secrets. What a nice guy.  He evacuated us & he brought his girlfriend to the shelter to be with us.  The guy did not stop. He was getting out when he could to get the information to brief us.  When we went back to the hotel put on a clean Apple shirt and was rocking with any information he could get! He banged on our door at 2:30 in the morning (no electricity — so he was running around with a flashlight) to tell us to be ready in the morning to split. What a guy.

Secrets Capri ran the crisis like a precision drill team.  The GM was cool collected and ran his employees better than a commando leader. I sent a letter to AMResorts commending him and his employees.

Thank you so much for the information you were getting to my staff and more importantly to my daughter. The hardest part of the whole thing was not being able to tell our daughter we were OK.  We were out of contact with her for almost 5 days, and I know getting info from Apple helped comfort her. You guys are the best and I will tell everyone I know that when it comes to Vacations if they don’t go with Apple Vacations, they are risking their lives!

Flying from BWI to Punta Cana? Here is what you can expect!

One of our Apple Vacations Sales Reps James Reese flew down to Punta Cana to do some hotel site inspections. I asked him to tell me all about it and here are the highlights!

I caught the Apple Vacations Charter on Airtran out of BWI. Check-in at Airtran was very smooth and very quick! I was approached by Carol, one of our BWI Airport Reps, as soon as I walked up to the Airtran counter. Carol made sure I had luggage tags, the Emergency Contact slip and double-checked that I was on the Apple Vacations manifest.

After being checked in, she directed me towards the security line — Quick and Simple! The Airtran flight-crew were fantastic! They were engaging, friendly and extremely courteous. The plane itself was modern and clean. Couldn’t have asked for a better flight! When we got the Punta Cana Airport I got my $10 Tourist Card and went straight through Immigrations — VERY FAST! Our luggage came out immediately — no wait.

There is a “Big GIANT Fan” in Baggage Claim that kept us cool! Funny — people are taking pictures of the fan now. Must be one of the new “sites” to see in Punta Cana!

After telling many people that I didn’t need assistance with my luggage, I walked over to Amstar and was promptly directed to my transfer bus. The driver had water and a cool towel waiting for me — NICE! The bus was clean and cool. Received a brief history of the island in route to my hotel. Amstar does such a great job!

Keep checking back for hotel reviews!

USA3000 Airlines

airport-and-now-0061Flying to Cancun on USA3000 Airlines last week I had a realization – The flights on USA3000 Airlines to Mexico & The Caribbean are quite unique. Everyone is going on vacation. There are no “business” travelers going from point A to point B and back. Everyone is going somewhere to have a good time: a destination wedding, a family vacation, a weekend girls getaway, a golf trip or a romantic vacation – just to name a few. Because of this, the attitude of the passengers is so much more fun than a normal flight. The flight crew also tries to make the experience much more fun than a regular flight. The flight crew was excellent on my recent trip to Cancun.

On our flight the captain often communicated with the passengers – even simple things about how long to get to our vacation destination and what time we would arrive (so we could plan what time we would be on the beach!) The crew even played “the dollar game.” …Read More & Watch Video!>>
