Playing around Paradise Island – Part 1

Paradise Island is just that – Paradise.

It’s 685 acres of pure bliss connected to Nassau by two 600-foot bridges. The island was developed almost exclusively to accommodate visitors, with resorts, hotels, restaurants, shops, a golf course, an aquarium, and a casino rounding out the amenities.

In the upcoming blog series, “Playing around Paradise Island”, I’ll be giving you my own reviews of all the wonderful things I got to do and see in Nassau, Paradise Island, Bahamas. From intimate getaways to world class resorts, Paradise Island has something for everyone. So, sit back, relax and take a few minutes to discover Nassau Paradise Island, Bahamas.

Fun Fact – Did you know Paradise Island was originally known as “Hog Island.”

The first hotel we visited was Paradise Island Harbour Resort. It’s one of the few all-inclusive resorts on Paradise Island and it overlooks the beautiful Nassau Harbour. The casino at the Atlantis Resort is just a short walk away if you have the need for a little night life. This property is perfect for families and couples searching for an affordable Inclusive vacation. There is plenty of fun to keep everyone busy on this property. There’s even a private white sand beach on property, perfect for fun in the sun and relaxation.

Next stop was RIU Palace. I thought that this RIU Palace was smaller than the typical RIU Palace Resorts in other areas. It’s very upscale, yet casually comfortable. The resort features one pool, one buffet restaurant, and some amazing a la carte restaurants for dinning. The food quality is GREAT! No surprise, it’s located on a picture-perfect, white-sand beach just a short walk from the Atlantis Casino, the RIU Palace Paradise Island is a true oasis with a distinct Bahamian flair.

So what do you think so far?

Stay tuned for part 2 of “Playing around Paradise Island”, as I discover everything Atlantis on Paradise Island.

Fly Free, Fly Free, Fly Free!

flyfreeWhat does that mean? Well there are a lot of Fly Free promotions out there right now, so I wanted to explain what some of them are and how they work. The first one is Apple Vacations exclusive Fly Free promotion to Cancun and Punta Cana. Everyone is looking for a deal, Apple Vacations knows that. What we have done is taken the package prices at select hotels, and reduced the price (at least) by the airfare cost already in that package. To Explain – if the package you were buying was $1,200.00 a person, and the air portion of that package was $400.00,  now the package is now $800.00 per person. So–you are Flying Free! We have done this in several cities including Philadelphia, Baltimore, Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. The minimum discount in Columbus is $1,000.00 per couple, and the other cities is (minimally) $800.00 per couple. The discount is in the new package / advertised price and is automatic at the time of booking. No form to fill out, no calls to make. This Fly Free promotion you must book by 1/28! Continue reading
