Debating on a traditional wedding at home or packing your bags for a week in paradise to celebrate your nuptials? Well, search no further for the right path! Having the wedding of your dreams in a picturesque destination can be a stress-free, memorable experience for everyone!

It’s Less Expensive than a Traditional Wedding

Hosting a wedding in your hometown while surrounded by your friends and family can empty your wallet faster than you think. More often than not, destination wedding locations have a wedding coordinator ready to bring your dream wedding to life. Many places also offer packages that include everything you’ll want while providing savings on catering, the rehearsal dinner and wedding decor.

It’s Your Call, Your Way

Do you dream of walking down the beach barefoot in a sundress? Do you imagine a private sunset ceremony? It’s your wedding, you make the rules! Destination weddings are the perfect way to keep your big day as formal or casual as you and your partner want. The most important thing to remember is this day is all about you and your love!

It’s a Wedding, Honeymoon, and Vacation all Rolled into One

Many couples choose to surround their big event with activities that will not only be exciting and adventurous but also relaxing and tranquil. Whether it’s a long peaceful weekend or a week full of entertainment for you and your guests, it’s the perfect opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones. Once the main event is over and guests return home, newlyweds often spend the next few days basking in paradise and enjoying some much needed alone time.

Planning is Easy and Stress-Free

Planning a wedding at home can turn into a stressful and time-consuming experience that requires months of planning whereas planning a destination wedding allows you to enjoy the whole experience. Apple Vacations Destinations Weddings is here for you! We can help arrange your entire trip, including taking care of all of your guests. Let us do all of the work while you enjoy your engagement and prepare your vows. After all, your biggest worry should be which bathing suits to pack!

A Unique and Memorable Experience

Viva La Villa: Unique Luxury Venues for Your Destination Wedding

Destination Wedding Villa

As told by Apple Vacations Destination Wedding Expert, Ashley Surkin

Are you are dreaming of a super intimate, ultra unique and lux wedding on par with nuptials worthy of the rich and famous?  Are you a laid back bride who thinks a jaw dropping backdrop is more impressive than flowers? Are you searching for a place where your closest friends and family can celebrate without the commotion of other vacationers?

Then renting a private villa could be the perfect choice for you!

With a private villa your guests can enjoy the laid-back intimacy of this home away from home. No need for dinner reservations or a fight for a spot on the beach. Host your party well into the wee hours of the night and take a dip in a pool that never closes!

Most villas come with private cook services which allow meals to be catered to your preferences and on your time, not resort time. And with sizes ranging from 2 to 40 rooms, it doesn’t matter how long your guest list is, there’s plenty of space for everyone.

And if you think you can’t afford a villa in places like St. Barts, Turks and Caicos, Virgin Gorda or even Barbados, think again. In some cases villas can be more cost effective than traditional hotels!

Speaking of Barbados, look at these gorgeous photos (shown below) from a recent destination wedding at Landfall Villa. This six-bedroom property offers the ultimate in beachfront luxury with its famous Sandy Lane Beach location, majestic, arched doorways and a courtyard designed for royalty.  A surround sound system, air-conditioned bar with sitting area, and large, free-form infinity edged swimming pool make this the ideal place for entertaining wedding guests.

Whether you’re tying the knot or renewing your vows, a private villa hideaway is the picture-perfect venue for your romantic event!

*AVDW Tip: When choosing a villa as your venue, make sure the floor plan works with your desired wedding set up. Your guests traveled a long way to be part of the festivities so being able to see you exchange vows is imperative. Be certain that no one would be seated around the corner!

The Destination Wedding “To-Do’s” Before the “I-Do’s”

Destination Wedding To-Do's

As told by Apple Vacations Destination Wedding Expert, Ashley Surkin

There are many emotions during the wedding planning process but more often than not, what you’re feeling is stress!

Remind yourself that the most important part of this is that you come out married to the love of your life. Everything else is fluff in comparison to that main goal. Here is a helpful timeline for tackling the daunting list of to-do’s before the I-do’s.

9 Months-to-a-Year Out

- Create a solid guest list. Don’t forget to collect everyone’s addresses!

- Research marriage requirements in the destination you chose to marry. Some countries require that you be there 48-72 hours prior to nuptials.

- Contact your favorite travel agent or click here (http://applev.ac/10m5jrs) to secure your wedding date with the resort and set up a room block for guests.

AVDW Tip: Create an Excel spreadsheet in order to keep track of your growing guest list and mailing addresses. This will also come in handy when you’re collecting RSVPs or sending out thank you notes.

4-9 Months Out

- If you haven’t already, send your Save-the-Dates! The sooner the better so your guests can make their travel arrangements.

- Obtain passports. They take about 4-6 weeks to process/renew.

- Find your perfect sand/travel-friendly gown!

2-4 Months Out

- Confirm any offsite excursions you may have planned.

- Make/order favors and put together welcome bags for all of your guests.

AVDW Tip: Consider shipping favors and welcome bag items to the resort and assembling them the day you arrive. It’ll save you a lot of hassle while traveling.

1-2 Months Out

- Send out formal invitations 6-8 weeks before the big day. Be sure to include a schedule of group events and any other important information you feel that your guests may need to be aware of.

- Finalize wedding details with your on-site wedding coordinator.

2-Weeks Out

- If you’re planning a symbolic ceremony now is the time to apply for a marriage license. Depending on where you live there is usually a waiting period which could take anywhere from 24 hours to several weeks to receive your license.

- Check with the resort that there will be a gown steamer or somewhere nearby that offers this service.

AVDW Tip: During travel your gown should be with you at all times and in a protective garment bag that you can either stow overhead or in the first class closet.

Once you arrive at your destination be sure to touch base with your coordinator and deliver the welcome bags. If you’re having a legal ceremony, satisfy all necessary requirements before the big day. Other than that, take this time to relax (just don’t forget sunscreen!). You made it!
