Travel Tips from a Customer Service Expert

Hi there! My name is Eileen Monroe, and I am a seasoned Applelite of 15 years!  I started in Reservations as an agent, moved to Groups, then used my Penn State University degree in Education to slide into the Training Department. Later I became a floor supervisor, a manager and now, a pre-travel specialist as the Senior Manager of Apple Vacations’ Core Customer Service.

I’ve been around so long ’cause I love Apple, love the industry, and all the amazing travel opportunities that it allowed me to share with my family and friends. Each trip has left us with memories of a lifetime!  I’ve learned a lot of travel dos and don’ts over the years, which I’d like to share with you.

How to Navigate AppleVacations.com

090604_siteWhen navigating a website, there are many ways to find information. I generally like to go right to the root of the information I’m looking for before going on a wild goose chase. That’s why the site map is often my favorite place. On AppleVacations.com you can find the site map as a link towards the very bottom of the page.  The site map will allow you to drill down to the page you are looking for by clicking on the expand button and searching alphabetically.

Here are a few other places I recommend that visitors begin their search:

  • Flights link will detail all of the major departure cities our vacation flights depart from along with the day of the week and the duration the flights.
  • Our newly enhanced specials page - most times, you can find this menu by clicking on the Last Minute Deals ad on our homepage. This new technology allows you to sort specials by highest to lowest price, specific durations, multiple gateways. All with ease and speed.

Check out some of these features and let me know what you think. In the coming months we’ll add more based on your feedback. Enjoy your visit!

Hopefully these five tips will help your trip go smoothly:

The picky eater - I have always found in resorts that there was no problem with food and drinks. Most resorts in Mexico & The Caribbean & Hawaii have plenty of juices and bottled water. They also have fancy (non alcoholic) drinks. He loved to order and drink from “strawberry daiquiris,” “spider mans,” and “mudslides.” Most restaurants offer a good supply of foods your child will find familiar for all meals such as pancakes, fresh fruit, salad, crackers, rolls and the child friendly chicken nuggets, burgers, pizza and hot – dogs. …Read More>>
