Two years ago, Apple Vacations made our first foray into the world of social media with our own custom-built program called “Take Your Best Shot”. TYBS is a site where Apple Vacationers can upload photos and video from their vacations and be entered for the chance to Win a Free vacation or receive up to $500 in Vacation Certificates for the runners up. Apple Vacations and Sportsradio 610 WIP employees with radio station winners at Dreams Cancun with former Philadelphia Eagle and current Sportsradio 610 WIP personality Hugh Douglas.

A few years ago there was a whole bunch of hoopla when Oprah gave out “free” cars to her studio audience and the people were taxed on them. Last year the first Survivor winner, Richard Hatch, was sentenced to prison for not paying taxes on the $1 million dollars he won. I recently attended a taping of “The View” and was required to fill out a form accepting that if I was given a prize over a certain dollar amount while in the studio audience that I was aware that I would be taxed on it (no such luck, though).

Apple Vacations happily gives away thousands of prizes each year with radio stations, web sites, newspapers, professional sports teams, at special events and with our own promotions on our website.
