Winter storm warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service where snowfall is expected to be heaviest in parts of southern Lower Michigan, northern Indiana, northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin and eastern Iowa. This includes Chicagoland and most of the Milwaukee metro area. Winter storm watches are in effect for parts of southeast Lower Michigan, northern Indiana and northwest Ohio, including the Detroit metro area. Heavy snow and significant reductions in visibility are possible in this area, and upgrades to warnings are possible. Travel will be very difficult to impossible at times, including during the morning commute on Friday. Total snow accumulations of 7 to 12 inches are expected, with localized higher amounts.
If you are scheduled to travel from an area impacted by this storm in the coming days, check with your airline at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure, and again before leaving for the airport. You can set up automatic flight alerts by visiting your airline’s website and entering your flight numbers. If you are traveling on a scheduled air flight that has been delayed or cancelled, your travel agent (if applicable) should contact Apple Vacations so that we can update your transfer/hotel accordingly. If you did not book through a travel agent, contact our Day of Departure Services Dept. at 1-800-517-2000, prompt 2, then prompt 1.
